Garrett County residents, visitors, businesses, schools, healthcare and government organizations will all have a brighter future when Google partners with Garrett County to develop and implement the Garrett Google Fiber Network (GGFN).

Schools, classrooms, teachers and students will have ultra fast Internet access speeds allowing exciting new content and much greater interactivity. Learning does not end with the bell. Students will have access to educational resourses for their homes and other areas of the community. Teachers will have access to students and their work product anywhere, anytime. Benefits will include improved learning, expanded curriculum, greater teacher productivity, and most importantly a future citizenry educated and productive to lead our future growth. |

Our community hospital, Garrett County Memorial Hospital, and our network of health care providers will have the technology, communications, and network resources to vastly improve patient care, reduce errors, lower costs, and increase preventative care. |

Garrett County businesses will compete in the global economy by offering greatly improved customer service, technical support, and new products on par with the world's leading companies. The GGFN, combined with our educated workforce, great quality of life, and desirable four seasons recreation location will be a long term driver of robust growth. |

County government is responsible for our public libraries, public safety, emergency services, planning and permitting, economic development, public utilities, transportation infrastructure, and finance/ administration. Garrett County citizens and businesses will experience vastly improved services. |

The Garrett County Community Action Committee offers services to County citizens ranging from early childhood education to affordable housing, from senior citizen services to public transportation. GGFN will improve service through better communications, resource scheduling/tracking (real time GPS on all public vehicles), business operations/procurement, construction process improvement, and public education. |
